CANISTEO: Robert W. Flohr, 74, of Catatunk Rd. passed away Sunday (Feb. 12, 2012) at his home following a courageous battle with cancer. Bob was born June 14, 1937 in Rochester to Hans and Irene (Koester) Flohr. On December 23, 2007 in Canisteo, he married Alice J. Zugnoni, who survives and resides in Canisteo. He was predeceased by his parents and a step-son Parker Tomczak. He was a 1955 graduate of Charlotte High School in Rochester and then received a business and accounting degree from the Rochester Business Institute. He enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1960 and served until honorably discharged in 1966. Bob was employed as a book keeper for the Elmer W. Davis Roofing Company in Rochester where he worked for 43 years retiring in 2001. Most of his adult life he had resided in Rochester. In 1972 he purchased property in the Canisteo Valley on the Catatunk Road and upon his retirement built his new home and moved to the area. Bob was a member of the NRA, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited and the Rocky Mt. Elk Foundation and for several years was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt. He was also an avid NASCAR fan who favored the racing team of Jeff Gordon. In addition to his wife Alice "Joyce" Flohr of Canisteo, Bob is survived by a son, Scott (Pam) Flohr of Canisteo, a daughter, Elizabeth (Daniel) Snyder of Churchville. Two step-children: Christopher (Denise) Tomczak and Alice Tomczak all of Rochester. He is also survived by 11 grand children and one great grandson. At Bob's request there will be no prior calling hours. A memorial service with military honors will take place at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Canisteo American Legion, West Main St. in Canisteo. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, Roswell Park Cancer Institute, P.O.
