Obituary of Victor E. Converse

Victor E. “Vic” Converse, 71, of Duane St. Hornell, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. Born in Rochester on April 22, 1945, Vic was the son of the late Stanley H. and Doris June (Boulio) Converse. In 1964 Vic enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving for 20 years until 1984. He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant. On July 11, 1980, he married Maria T. “Tere” Martinez in Madrid, Spain. Following his military retirement, Vic and Tere settled in Hornell where he was employed in various occupations but lastly worked for St. James Hospital in Hornell. Vic was preceded in death by his parents, Stan and Doris June Converse and by his brother, Stan Lee Converse. Surviving are his wife, Maria “Tere” Converse of Hornell, his sons, Matthew Converse of California, Mitchell Converse of Texas and Victor J. Converse of Hornell, his daughter, Doris Converse of Hornell, his step sons, Javier Burgos Martinez and Alaro Burgos Martinez, both of Spain, his sisters, Cathrine (Donald) Osberg of Upland, CA and Carolyn (Larry) Baker of Lindley, NY, his brother, Nathan (Kimberly) Converse of Troupsburg, his aunt, Ida Ruth Bauer and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will be made in Bath National Cemetery, Bath, NY.
