Obituary of William T. McIntosh

William T. McIntosh, 86, of 3924 County Rte. 82, Woodhull, NY, went to be with the Lord, Monday, April 30, 2012 at Absolut Care at Three Rivers, Painted Post. Born in Corning, NY, December 4, 1925, he was the son of Kenneth W. & Ethel L. Briggs McIntosh. He was an Army Veteran of World War II and was the recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and a Purple Heart. He and his wife operated a general store in Hornby until 1963 and was a former Chief of the Hornby Volunteer Fire Dept. and at that time a member of the Hornby Church. He was a member of the Community Church of Woodhull and Woodhull Memorial Post 1740 American Legion. He retired after 40 years service from Ingersoll Rand Co. of Painted Post, NY. He married Ruth E. Davis, July 17, 1945, she survives. Also surviving are his children, David W. (JoAnn) McIntosh of San Antonio, TX, Anita A. (Robert) Fisher of Winneconne, Wisconsin, Paul W. (Cladel) McIntosh of Woodhull, NY, & Ruth E. (Jack) Waters, also of Woodhull, NY. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren & 37 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his brother, Virgil McIntosh, sisters, Dorothy Smith & Helen Bedient, two grandchildren, and a great great granddaughter. Friends may call Saturday, May 5th at the Woodhull Baptist Church from 10:00am to noon, where funeral & committal services will be conducted immediately following visitation at noon. The Rev. Brian Diffenbacher will officiate. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery. Memorials will be received for the Community Church of Woodhull, c/o Sharon Calkins, PO Box 242, Woodhull, NY 14898.
