Obituary of Bruce L. Potter

CANISTEO: Bruce L. Potter, 70, of Third Street passed away peacefully at home Friday, April 28, 2017 following an extended illness.

Bruce was born February 9, 1947 in Hornell to the late Harold and Audreta (Bennett) Potter. On July 1, 1972, in Canisteo, he married Nancy Cotton who survives and resides in Canisteo.

Bruce was a graduate of Canisteo Central School class of 1965. He attended Corning Community College and had worked as a traffic safety engineer for NYSDOT retiring in 2002.

He was a member of the Hornell Association, Hornell Elks Lodge and the Canisteo American Legion War Dads.

In addition to his wife Nancy, of Canisteo, Bruce is survived by two children: daughter: Kelley (Stephen) Sartori of Clarks Summit, Pa. son: Jason (Merideth) Potter of Washington, DC. 3 grandchildren: Nathan and Ashley Sartori and Quincy Potter, an aunt: Helen Matson, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law: Kaye and Jack Bossard.

To honor Bruce's wishes, there will be no calling hours.  A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at a later date.
