John E. "Butch" McChesney Sr, 66, of East Hill Church Road, Addison, formerly of East Corning, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2011 at Corning Hospital following an extended disability. Born in Elmira on July 13, 1945, Butch was the son of the late Donald and Juanita Morter McChesney. He and the former Linda D. Newell were married on September 5, 1970 at the Rathbone United Methodist Church. Butch was a long time employee at Rhinehart Sand & Gravel in East Corning until a serious injury sustained 10 years ago while deer hunting. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his Harley motorcycles. He and Linda both owned Harley's and truly loved riding together. A very gifted musician, Butch was a guitarist in various country bands over the years including his own band, "Mobile Express", which he and Linda both performed in. Surviving Butch are his wife of 41 years, Linda McChesney of Addison, his daughter, Jody Arms of Corning, his sons, John (Joy) McChesney Jr. of Addison and Shawn (Christine) McChesney of Beaver Dams, his grandchildren, Joshua Baxter, Amanda Jo Baxter, Dallas Arms, Austin McChesney, Michael McChesney and Susan McChesney, his great granddaughter, Arielle Baxter, his brother, Lonnie (Diane) McChesney of Corning and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Tuesday, October 4 from 6 to 7:30 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull. A memorial service for Butch will follow at 7:30 PM with his Pastor, Rev.
