Papa,
A smile that could light a room with humor that could stop anyone in their tracks. I’m lucky to have got to known you and I’m lucky to have called you my grandfather. The past two years have been filled with random phone calls and though, they didn’t typically make it past “anything new” and “how are you”, it the meant the world to me. I’m grateful for you and mimi and all the times I got to spend up in NY, along with all the memories in NJ, TN, and Vegas. I hope you keep your sense of humor and give heaven one h*ll of a ride!
With love,
Megan
Some of my favorite memories were spending summers with Mimi and Papa, Papa dressing up as the Easter Bunny at the BDFD when I was small, him walking into my house without ever knocking, Mimi and Papa coming to visit my sister and I for our birthdays and ballet recitals, my sister and cousin and I stealing all his candy and cough drops, and sneaking into bed with Mimi and Papa in the morning when we were little.
My heart is broken. But I am eternally grateful for the love Papa has given me as his granddaughter for the last 38 years. He loved my children Lawson, Alba, Hudson, and Frankie. He was one of the strongest men I know in this world and his presence in my heart will never cease to exist. I love you Papa.
LOVE, REBECCA
STARS
There are stars,
whose lights reach the earth when they are already gone.
There are people,
whose memory lights us although they are no longer among us.
These lights, that glitter in the deep darkness of the night will lead us the way.
Thank you for making a major difference in my life!
...and now "go rest high on that mountain", Dad!
