CANISTEO: Thomas M. “Tom” Sharp, Sr., 64 of Cty. Rte. 31 passed away Friday afternoon July 22, 2022, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born June 26, 1958 in Hornell to the late Glenn F. and Patricia L. (Parks) Sharp. On August 10, 1996 in Avoca, he married the former Pamela L. Campbell who survives and resides in Canisteo. Tom was a graduate of Jasper Central School class of 1979 and had been a bulk mail distributor for the U.S. Postal Service out of Hornell. He very much enjoyed nature and wildlife. Tom was also fond of his dog and cats. One of his greatest passions was riding in his classic cars and motorcycles. Above all else, he was a family man. His family meant everything to him and enjoyed the time spent with his wife, children, grandchildren and the rest of his extended family. In addition to his wife Pam, Tom is survived by a son Thomas M. (Corrissa) Sharp, Jr. of Hornell, four daughters, Jennifer James of Hornell, Lacy Taft (Brian Parrish) of Beaver Dams, McKayla Sharp of Alfred Station and Stephanie (Daniel) Anderson of Lawrenceville, Pa. His grandchildren Kailynn James, Elijah Meise, Meghanne Parrish, Ella and Axel Sharp, Oliver and Eleanor Anderson, one brother Floyd (Diane) Sharp of Canisteo. The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 6-8 pm Friday, July 29th at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hours at 8:00 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Tom’s name may be made to the River of Grace Church, Elm St. Hornell, N.Y. 14843.
