BATH/CAMERON: Maxine S. Dartt, 93, formerly of Cty. Rte. 119 in Cameron passed away peacefully Wednesday afternoon July 27, 2022 at the Steuben Center in Bath where she had resided since 2020. Maxine was born September 6, 1928 in the town of Cameron to the late Winfred W. and Margaret H. (Reddy) Stuart. On June 29, 1947 in Cameron, she married Carlton A. Dartt and for over sixty years our family learned what love is, caring, sharing and laughing together. Carlton predeceased her in November of 2008. She was a life-long resident of Cameron where she and her husband raised their family and where she worked as a sales clerk for Ted Dartt selling Lionel trains and grocery products at the former Dartt’s Grocery Store in Cameron. Maxine is survived by four daughters: Ellen (Dan) Edmond of Wayland, Jane Palmesano of Rochester, Louise (Ron) Robinson of Cornelius, N.C. and Lorraine (Joe) Towner of Mooresville, N.C., two sons: Carlton A. (Cindy) Dartt, Jr. of Statesville, N.C. and William (Barbara) Dartt of Bath. 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by brothers-in-law Walter Bohomey of Cameron and Robert Hawkins of Attica. In addition to her parents and late husband, Maxine was predeceased by a son Mark Dartt, her brothers, Roland, John, Thomas, Donald, Harry, Ellis, Ken, William and Robert Stuart and sisters, Elizabeth Murphy, Phillis Hawkins, Evelyn Warner, Barbara Bohomey and Dorothy Margeson. The family will receive friends from noon-2 pm August 13th at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo, where a memorial service will take place immediately following calling hours at 2:00 pm Burial will be in Town Line Cemetery, Cameron Mills, N.Y.
