Mary Linda Vetter, 77, of Woodhull, NY was born April 5, 1947, in Corning, NY and passed away peacefully Sunday, February 16, 2025, at home after an almost yearlong battle with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ben F. Vetter. Mary Linda worked for 23 years at All Saints Academy, where she helped children as a teacher’s assistant. She loved music, bird watching, lazy summer days on Keuka Lake, using her computer to stay connected to family and friends and participating in her exercise group. What she cherished most was spending time with her family and friends. She is the fourth generation to be baptized, married and memorialized at St. Mary’s Church. Mary Linda is also survived by her children, Christine (Alan) Abe of Arnold, MD, Kim (Ethan) Larsen-Thistle of Corning, NY, Ben P. (Kristina) Vetter of Webster, NY, and Kate Brucie of Corning, NY; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and her siblings, Anne (Ron) Erhardt, Larry Riesbeck, and John (Priscilla) Riesbeck, along with countless nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her mother, Isadora (Quinn) Riesbeck Keefer, father, Paul Riesbeck, stepfather, Raymond “Don” Keefer; brother, James Riesbeck and grandson, Jacob Abe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to Care First NY (preferably by check with her name in the memo), 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, NY 14870. Her family will receive friends and family at St. Mary’s Church, 155 State Street, Corning, NY, an hour prior to a Mass of Christian Burial.
