Obituary of Denise Ambuski

Please share a memory of Denise to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend Denise Ambuski on March 5, 2025 (Ash Wednesday). While her passing was unexpected, we take comfort in knowing that she was greeted and reunited with her father, Stanley Ambuski. Denise was born March 27, 1964 (Good Friday) in Hornell, NY to Stanley and Theresa Ambuski where she later graduated from Canisteo Central School Class of 1982. She continued her education at University of Buffalo where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She also became a Licensed Massage Therapist. She absolutely loved her massage business along with all of her patients. She had a large circle of friends with whom she enjoyed socializing with, listening to Jimmy Buffett and listening to polka music in her younger years. But her biggest joy in life was the love she had for her nieces and nephews along with her great nieces and nephews who knew her as Aunt Nee Nee. She will be truly missed. Heaven has gained a beautiful angel. Denise is survived by her mother Theresa Ambuski, her sister Lynette (Andy) Murphy and a brother Pete (Deb) Ambuski all of Canisteo. Her nieces and nephews, Samantha (Chris) Clair, Amber (Shaun) Crisman, AJ Murphy and fiancé Ally Bacon, Logan Ambuski and Savannah Ambuski. Great nieces and nephews, Reed Murphy, Easton Murphy, Liam and Elia Clair and Elodie Crisman. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Monday, March 10, at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo, and a memorial mass will be held at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Hornell on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions in Denise’s name may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown MD 21741 or MichaelJFox.org.
