Please share a memory of Glenda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Glenda F. Bennett, 84, of Addison, NY, passed away at her home on Monday, March 24, 2025 with her loving family at her side. Born in Blossburg, PA on November 7, 1940, Glenda was the daughter of the late Richard B. and Norma E. (Stickles) Root. She attended school at Addison Central School. On June 22, 1957, Glenda married Phillip D. Bennett. He preceded Glenda in death on January 25, 2009. Glenda was a long-time school bus driver for the Addison School District, a job which she truly enjoyed. She had a great love for animals and recently lost her kitty whom she loved for 17 years. She had a fierce love for her family and close friends. Glenda embraced texting for many years to keep in touch. Family and friends received daily “good morning” and ‘good night’ texts along with funny memes. Glenda not only cherished the people in her life, but she also held a deep appreciation for her home and its surrounding natural beauty. She found peace in the sights of deer wandering, trees rustling, and flowers blooming around her residence. One of her final desires was to continue residing in her cherished home, surrounded by the love of her family and close friends. Glenda is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Lisa and Steven Amidon of Hornell and Norma and Jeff Hoffmann of Addison, her brother, Richard W. (Carolyn) Root of Pekin, Illinois and her sisters, Gloria Jean Conner and Rhonda Gee, both of Tamarac, Florida along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Phillip, Glenda was predeceased by her sister, Shaon Lucas. Friends and family may call at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull on Monday, March 31 from noon to 2 pm with funeral services following there at 2 pm.
