CANISTEO: Sidney Glenn Dickey, Jr. 81 of Ste. Rte. 36 passed away April 1, 2025 at St. James Hospital following an extended illness.
Glenn was born January 16, 1944 in Hornell to the late Sidney G. and Virginia B. (Burns) Dickey, Sr. On June 22, 1974 in Greenwood, he married the former Lee Ann Feenaughty who survives and resides in Canisteo. Glenn was a life-long resident of Canisteo where he graduated from Canisteo Central School.
He was an auto mechanic by trade and for a period of time was owner and operator of the former Quaker State gas station in Canisteo, he also worked at A.L. Blades and Sons in Hornell, Olix Welding in Hornell and retired from Flint’s Auto in Almond.
In addition to his wife Lee Ann of Canisteo, Glenn is survived by two daughters Angela (Jason) Allen of Canisteo, Andrea (Patrick) Piedici of Rochester. Six grandchildren: Katelyn, Gracie, Ashley and Jonathan Allen, Caden and Kyla Piedici. He is also survived by a brother George Dickey of Canisteo, two sisters, Gail (Gary) Davis of Canisteo and Joyce (Frank) Burdick of Cameron.
At Glenn’s request there will be no calling hours or service. Final interment will be at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in Glenn’s name may be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, NY 14843.
Arrangements are in care of H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
