Obituary of Randy M. Allington

Randy M. "Pappy" Allington, 64, of Addison, died suddenly on Thursday, April 17, 2025 as a result of a fire in his home.
Born in Corning on December 6, 1960, Randy was the son of Delos and Maryland Phelps Allington. He grew up in the Mansfield and Tioga area in Pennsylvania but eventually attended school in Corning where he was a graduate of Corning-Painted Post West High School.
Randy was a hardworking farmer and mechanic, having been employed by various farms over the years, most recently by the Clinton Crooker Farm and the Harris Farm, both in Addison. As a younger man, Randy enjoyed hunting. He always loved being in the outdoors, making farming a natural life choice. Randy would tell you his greatest legacy was his son Josh. He had enormous pride and adoration for his son.
Randy is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Josh and Ashlee Allington of Addison, his grandchildren, Spencer and Rylee Allington, his mother, Maryland Allington of Tioga, his siblings, Bonnie Anderson of Lawrenceville, Violet (Mike) Wilson of Tioga, Linda Evans of Jacksonville, FL, Joe (Michele) Allington of Jacksonville, FL, Cindy (Pat) Mitchell of Live Oak, FL, Debbie (Richard) Thornton of Jacksonville, FL and Wayne (Carol) Allington of Elmira. along with several nieces and nephews.
Randy was preceded in death by his father, Delos Allington, his sister Kathie and his brother-in-law, Jeff Evans.
There will be a time of visitation on Thursday, April 24 from 4 to 5:30 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. A brief memorial will be conducted at the conclusion of visitation.
