Obituary of Roy J. McFall Jr.

Roy J. McFall Jr., 59, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Roy was born on November 30, 1965, the son of the late Roy J. and Simone (Hebert) McFall Sr. in Plattsburg, NY while Roy Sr. was serving in the US Air Force. Roy’s family settled on a farm in Troupsburg while he was still in school. He was a graduate of Troupsburg Central School. Roy was a life-long truck driver, specializing in the transport of bulk propane. He was an owner-operator contracting with various companies to transport fuel between terminals and dealers in the region. He operated a beef farm as well on the family farm in Troupsburg. Roy enjoyed the company of others and was a member of the Elkland Moose Lodge and the Knoxville Fire Hall. Roy was predeceased by his first wife, Donna Dake Gardner McFall on November 1, 2021. On December 2, 2023, Roy married the former Janet L. Bentley. Janet survives. Also surviving besides Janet are his step children, James (Pam) Gardner of Elkland, Veronica Gardner of Tioga, Ernie Gardner (Karrie Kenderdine) of Knoxville, Edward Gardner (Thoma Hija) of Osceola, Steven (Joann) Gardner of Selinsgrove and Daniel (Tara) Gardner of Osceola, his grandchildren, Joseph Gardner, Christopher Gardner, Jamie Lynn Gardner, Ivy Gardner, Kyle Gardner, Anderson Gardner, Travis Gardner, Kollin Gardner, Tyler Gardner, Meghan Gardner, Danika Gardner, Kasey Gardner, Payden Gardner and Braylon Griffin, 16 great grandchildren, his sister, Linda Willis of Glens Falls and several nieces and nephews. Besides his first wife Donna, Roy was predeceased by his step son Mike Gardner. Friends may call for a time of visitation on Saturday, April 26 from noon to 2 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Following visitation, Roy will be taken to Brookfield Cemetery in Brookfield, PA by his beloved Peterbilt tractor where he will laid to rest next to Donna.
