Obituary of Robert L. Babcock Sr.

Robert Babcock Sr., 71, of Woodhull New York passed away on June 29, 2025, at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre Pennsylvania. He was the youngest child of Ralph and Eunice (Fuller) Babcock. He was born and lived his early years in rural Pennsylvania, where he met his wife Lucinda Aldrich and they married on September 25, 1976. They later moved to New York and raised their four children. After Lucinda’s death in 2016, Robert settled in Woodhull New York where he would enjoy sitting on the front porch of his apartment with a wave and a hello for anyone who passed by while drinking his favorite beverage. He was known for driving around on his lawn tractor willing to mow for anyone or just converse with whoever was available. Being around people was a great joy for him. Surviving Robert are his children Becky McIntyre (Shawn Sullivan) of Addison, Ronald (Tabitha) Babcock of Wayland, Kelly (James) Schoonover of Hornell, Robert Jr. (Chelsea) Babcock of Bath; sister Leola Brown (Joseph Heath) of Hornell; 23 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Robert was predeceased by his daughter Christina Babcock, along with several siblings. A time for visitation will be held at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc., Funeral Home in Woodhull New York on Tuesday, July 1 at 4pm-6pm.
