ALFRED STATTION: Phyllis R. Horton, 87, formerly of East Valley Rd. passed away June 30, 2025 at Elderwood at Hornell, with her daughter and sister by her side, after an extended illness.
Born February 15, 1938 in Hornell to the late Hugh and Thelma (McHenry) Rawleigh. Phyllis was a meat cutter for the Alfred Sure Fine Grocery Store in Alfred Station for 35 years. She also worked at Steve’s Gas & Grub Hub in Andover. Phyllis had a passion for baking, lottery tickets, playing bingo and anything in “pink.”
She is survived by a daughter Kelly Roberts of Alfred Station, grandsons Curtis Roberts (Lek Sudarat) of Alfred Station and Jeremy Roberts, 4 great grandchildren Natalie, Ethan, Colton and Leo Roberts. She is also survived by a sister and her husband, Marcia and Dale Burly of Canisteo, several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Arthur A. Horton, two sisters, Patricia Janese and Sue Skrzypek and a brother Jack Rawleigh.
There will be no prior calling hours or service. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date and time.
