Obituary of Rosamond A. Ordway

HORNELL/BELLE HAVEN/BATH Rosamond A. "Rosie" Ordway, 95, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025. Rosamond was born August 29, 1929 in Hornell to John and Harriet Hubert. On September 26, 1948 she married Jack L. Ordway who predeceased her in 2012. She was also predeceased by her three sisters: Lucille Croston, Betty Walker and Harriet Bradley. Rosamond was a graduate of Hornell High School. She worked at Rosenbaum’s Clothing Store. Later she worked as a teller and loan officer at Steuben Trust Company. Rosamond was a member of the First Baptist Church and took care of the financial books. She also loved to sing, and sang in the church choir. She enjoyed swimming and would go early in the morning to swim at the YMCA. She loved to play golf with family and belonged to a women’s league as a member of the Twin Hickory Golf Course. Knowing Rosamond, meant knowing a Christian woman with a sweet smile who showed kindness to all. Her company was always enjoyed by others. Rosamond was married for 63 years, and she shared two children with her husband. Surviving are her daughter Kari Ordway of Bath, a son Bradley (Mary) Ordway also of Bath and his four children: Joshua (Erin) Ordway, Aubri (Jeff) Enders, Keegan (Justina) Ordway and Braedyn (Nate) Northrup. She also enjoyed her nine great-grandchildren. “The song is ended, but the melody lingers on.” Irvin Berlin The family will receive friends on Friday, August 29th, from 6:00 – 7:00 pm at the H.P.
