Raymond H. Learn, 78, of Hubbard Road, Rathbone, NY, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
Born in Corning, NY on October 30, 1946 to the late Raymond G. and Dorothy A. (VanCise) Learn. He was a graduate of Addison Central School and attended Corning Community College where he studied engineering and drafting.
Raymond had worked for the Pettibone Corp. in Ohio and later took employment with ABB Traction in Philadelphia for several years. He returned to this area in the 90’s and was employed by Alstom Transportation in Hornell prior to his retirement.
As a young man, Raymond enjoyed owning “muscle cars’ and had been an avid outdoorsman. He was previously involved with antiques where he would buy, refurbish and resell his finished product.
Surviving is his sister and brother-in-law, Christine and Cameron Cole of Rathbone, his nephew, Shane (Crystal) Cole, great niece and nephews. Auztin, Kyrriah and Johnathan, along with many Learn and VanCise cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 25 at 1 pm at the Woodhull Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Mort Gridley officiating. Family will be present to greet visitors from noon to 1 pm prior to service. Burial will follow in Woodhull Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull.
