GREENWOOD/DANSVILLE: Winifred L. “Winnie” Woodward, 87, of Main St. Dansville, formerly of Greenwood, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Elderwood at Hornell where she had resided since April of 2025.
Winnie was born November 14, 1937 in Rexville to the late Bert and Doris (Barber) Saunders. On December 15, 1973 in Hemlock, NY, she married Ward Woodward who predeceased her in 1994.
Survivors include two daughters Ramona Carbone (Timothy Kalkhof) of Hornell, Tina (Richard) Napolitan of Centerville, MA, a son Brian Ells of Campbell, 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a step-son, Gary Ells, two brothers Charles and Frank Saunders and a sister Nina Saunders-Cottle.
At Winnie’s request there will be no calling hours or service. A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in the Woodhull Cemetery, Woodhull, NY.
Memorial contributions in Winnie’s name may be made to the Greenwood Vol. Fire Dept. 751 Andover St. Greenwood, NY 14839.
Arrangements are in care of the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
