Obituary of Patricia A. Foster

HARTSVILLE: Patricia A. “Patti” Foster, 85, of Purdy Creek Rd., passed away Wednesday evening, October 1, 2025 at Wellsville Manor following an extended illness. Patti was born March 24, 1940 in Hornell to the late Norman and Daisy (Fitez) Woodworth. On May 8, 1958 in Canisteo, she married Richard Foster who survives. Patti was a life-long resident of the Canisteo Valley residing in Hartsville where she and her husband made their home and raised their family. Outside of her home, she was employed as a seamstress at the Marion Rohr Garment, Co. in Hornell. In addition to her husband, Patti is survived by five sons, Richard Foster of Andover, Michael Foster of Hornell, Steven (Barbara) Foster of Thatcherville, Daniel (Yvonne) Foster of Canandaigua and Douglas (Victoria) Foster of Hartsville, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Paul (Kathy) Woodworth of Hornell, Raymond “David” Woodworth of Canisteo, a sister, Carol Steffy of Hartsville and several nieces and nephews. Patti was predeceased by an infant sister Charlotte Woodworth and a sister Sylvia Wilson and Donna Cook, two brothers Norman and Philip Woodworth. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 from 5-7 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo, where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hours at 7:00 pm. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo. Memorial contributions in Patti’s name may be made to Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, NY 14843. Arrangements are in care of H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo.
