Evelyn A. Woodward, 93, of Howard NY passed away at her home on October 4, 2025.
Born on July 3, 1932 to the late Darwin and Nellie (Johnson) Drake, Evelyn made her living as a school bus driver for the Canisteo Central School District. She was an avid bowler and was part of the league in Hornell, and also enjoyed tending to her flowers and vegetables in her garden.
Surviving Evelyn are her children Evelyn Marie DiBella (Bruce) of Hornell NY, Leslie Smith of Watkins Glen NY, David (Barbara) Woodward of Canisteo, NY, brother Floyd Drake of Andover NY, sister Marilyn (Doug) Mellenbacher, eight grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Evelyn was predeceased by her husband Lester Woodward, brothers Lloyd, Harvey, Eldon, Duane Drake, sisters Esther Pierce, and Eleanor Hoyt.
There will be a time of visitation on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at 1-3 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, Canisteo NY. Following visitation there will be a gathering at Evelyn’s home, 2322 Windfall Road, Canisteo NY. Feel free to bring a dish to pass.
