CANISTEO: Phyllis K. Covel, 81, passed away peacefully Friday, October 17, 2025 at her home following a brief illness.
She was born January 5, 1944 in Olean to the late Willard F. and Virginia M. (Mallory) Moser. On July 28, 1962 in Wellsville, she married Robert L. Covel who predeceased her April 6, 2020.
Phyllis was a secretary for the former St. James Mercy Hospital and past President of the Hornell Area Jay-n-Cees. Outside of work she enjoyed gardening and working at various craft projects.
She is survived by a son Michael (Sarah Higgins) Covel of Fredericksburg, VA a daughter Robyn Lee of Gowanda, NY and 5 grandchildren, Ryan Covel, Steven Covel, Kayla Lee, Jordyn Lee and Brody Covel.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a brother Donald Moser and a sister Judith Schneider.
There will be no calling hours or service. Final Interment will be private in Hillside Cemetery Canisteo.
