Obituary of Jeffrey Henry

Jeffrey K. “JJ” Henry, 67, of Mead Road, Woodhull, NY, passed away on Saturday, October 25 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira following a short illness. JJ was born on April 20, 1958 in Paterson, New Jersey, the son of the late Elinor M. Rudd Henry. JJ was a 1977 graduate of Parsippany Hills New Jersey High School. On September 11, 1999, JJ married the former Julianne B. Bolcar in Booton, New Jersey. She survives. JJ was a lifelong truck driver. While in New Jersey, he was employed by Mt. Hope Rock Products and later Peace of Mind Auto Towing. He and Jul moved to Woodhull in 2002 and made their home on Mead Road in Woodhull. JJ worked for Wade’s Concrete in Addison, later for Crane’s Towing in Painted Post and eventually was employed by Sun Belt Rentals in Corning from where he retired. Following retirement, JJ worked summers for the Town of Woodhull Highway Department. He was a former member of the Woodhull Fire Department. JJ enjoyed deep sea fishing and playing in the dirt with his Kubota tractor. He was always first to offer help to anyone in need. Besides his wife Julianne Henry at home, JJ is survived by his children, Keith (Emma) Henry in Australia, Glen (Jen) Henry of Rockaway, New Jersey and Kimberly Calandrello (Evan) of Stanhope, New Jersey, his grandchildren, Kira, Zoe and Aliyah, his siblings, Debbie Henry of Randolph, New Jersey, Cheryl Henry of Hackettstown, New Jersey, Robert (Donna) Henry of Marion, South Carolina Robin (Janine) Henry of Florida and Susan Henry of Denville, New Jersey, nieces and nephews, Jason, Chris, Danielle, Crystal, Heather, Kristian, Jestin and Casey, along with several great nieces and nephews. Along with his mother Elinor, JJ was preceded in death by his brother, Gregory D. Henry. A memorial service will be conducted on Saturday, November 1 at 11 am at the Woodhull Cemetery Chapel with JJ’s brother, Robert Henry, officiating.
