Martha L. Christian Webster, 85, of West Main St. Woodhull, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA.
Martha was the daughter of Elva M. Allen and was born on November 30, 1940 in Woodhull. She attended Woodhull Union Free School. She married Eugene R. Christian on January 21, 1972. Gene preceded her in death on December 12, 1994. She later married Ladd Webster on February 15, 2003 and Ladd passed away on November 1, 2024.
Martha had been employed in various restaurants in the Woodhull area for many years. She eventually worked with her sister, Dolores Rude in her catering business and the operation of the Old Mill Restaurant in Woodhull. Martha and Dolores had operated lunch kitchens in the Jasper and Troupsburg area for Sunshine Kids during summertime visits to the area. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Addison and was a former member of the First Baptist Church of Woodhull.
For several years, Martha and Ladd spent winters in Edenton, NC and summers in New York. They finally began to stay full time in New York as their health made travel difficult.
Surviving are her children, Lois Button Willis of Addison, Timothy Button of Woodhull, Catherine Squire (Larry Grant) of Woodhull, Kenneth (Michelle) Christian of Edenton, NC and Elva (Rick) Conklin of Cameron, step children, Delia Webster of Rome, NY and Ladd Webster Jr. of Portland, OR, 15 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, brother, Donald (Virginia) VanOrsdale of Woodhull, sister, Anna Waters of Pensacola, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husbands, Eugene Christian and Ladd Webster, Martha was predeceased by her infant son, Richard Lee Button, her mother and stepfather, Elva and Donald VanOrsdale, her sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Donald Rude and her son-in-law, Donald Willis.
No formal services are scheduled and burial will be made privately in Woodhull Cemetery.
Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull.
