Obituary of Robert Lee Stone

Robert Lee “Red” Stone, 78, of Rathbone, NY passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Ira Davenport Hospital in Bath. Red was born in Blossburg, PA to William and Ethel Warburton Stone on June 15, 1947. He attended Addison High School. He was a US Army veteran stationed in Germany during the Vietnam era. Red’s career was as a carpenter, a profession he worked at for 50 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycling and woodworking. He is survived by his wife Debbie Sherwood Stone who he married on Aug. 16, 2014 in Rathbone, his children, Robert L Stone II, April Smith and Cheyenne Stone, his sisters, Sandy and Glenda and many other extended family. Red was preceded in death by his parents and brothers. Family and friends may gather on Saturday, January 24 from 2 to 4 pm for a time of visitation and sharing at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY.
