Obituary of Patricia A. Davis

CANISTEO: Patricia A. “Pat” Davis, 81, of Maple St. passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at her home after an extended illness. Pat was born July 12, 1944 in Elmira to the late Ernest and Virginia (Beattie) Wise. She was a graduate of Canisteo Central School class of 1962. She had worked for various insurance agency in the Hornell and Canisteo area, to include Ann Termin’s Insurance Agency, Robert A Sweeney and Robert Rink Insurance Agencies. Pat finished her working career as the appliance sales manager at the former Do It Best Hardware store in Hornell where you were always welcome with a warm hello and pleasant smile. Outside of work she and her husband were very active at the Hornell Moose Club. On February 9, 1963, in Hornell, she married Gary Davis who survives and resides in Canisteo. She is also survived by sons, William “Billy” Davis (Heather Sills) of Hornell, Jim Davis (Susan Harkenrider) of North Hornell, Chris (Kerry) Davis of Hornell and daughter Mindy (Daniel) Bishop also of Hornell. Six grandchildren, Chadd Davis, Kiel (Cassie) Davis, Andrew Davis, Laken and Joshua Snowden and William Bishop, 3 great grandchildren, Oliver, Geno and Emma. Pat is also survived by a sister-in-law, Darlene Wise of Canandaigua. She was predeceased by her mother, Virginia Wise and her brother Douglas Wise. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 6, 2026 from 5-7 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo where a memorial service will take place immediately following calling hours at 7:00 pm. A Celebration of Pat's life will take place at the Hornell Moose Club on Saturday, February 7, from 1-3 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Hornell Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Rd. Hornell, NY 14843 or to the Christ Episcopal Church, 6 Center St. Hornell, NY 14843.
