Obituary of Mary Ruth Kilmer

Mary Ruth Kilmer, 81, of West Seneca and formerly of Painted Post, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026 at Williamsville Suburban Nursing Facility in Williamsville, NY where she had been a resident since 2023. Mary was born in Corning on June 23, 1944, the daughter of the late Alonzo P. and Theo Easling Randall. Raised in Painted Post, Mary was a 1962 graduate of the former Painted Post High School. Following high school Mary was employed by the Lincoln Rochester Bank in Corning. While employed there, she met Joseph P. Kilmer. They began dating and eventually were married on June 3, 1967 at Christ Episcopal Church in Corning. They made their home together in Painted Post. Mary later worked for the First National Bank in Corning. Upon the arrival of their children, Mary became a full time homemaker and stay at home Mom. As the children grew and became more independent, Mary worked for the Chilson Wilcox car dealership in Painted Post. After Mary and Joe retired, they sold their home of 40 years in Painted Post and moved to West Seneca to be near their daughter Jill. Mary enjoyed traveling, playing various card games and bowling (both real life and Nintendo Wii). Surviving Mary is her husband of 58 years, Joseph Kilmer of West Seneca, her son and daughter-in-law, Kyle and Janice Kilmer of Woodruff, SC, her daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Michael Schnorr of Lackawanna, NY, her grandchildren, Erika Kilmer, Joshua Kilmer and Morgan Schnorr along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Alonzo and Theo Randall, Mary was predeceased by her infant son Kristian Kilmer and her siblings, Paula Orr, James Randall, her twin brother, William Randall and Phyllis Ayers. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday, May 8 at 11 am in Fairview Cemetery, Painted Post. Arrangements are in care of the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home In Woodhull.
