John J. Mignone, 51, of Seneca Rd. passed away Thursday (May 4, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following a courageous battle with cancer.

John was born January 31, 1966 in Levittown, NY to Frank and Mary (Chetuck) Mignone.

He is survived by his mother Mary Mignone of Chula Vista, CA. his father: Frank (Elizabeth) Mignone of Winter Park, FL. one brother: Joseph (Kelly) Mignone of Pleasant View, TN. six sisters: Anne Mignone of Chula Vista, Ca., Marie Jean-Guillaume of San Diego, Ca., Lisa Brott of Hornell, Daria (Jeremy) Stone of Chula Vista, Ca., Catherine (Justin) Jaycox of Portland, OR. and Genevieve (Steve) Constant of Riverside, Ca. John was a loving and devoted uncle to 15 Mignone kids!  Always there to make them laugh, love and protect them. He's now their guardian angel. He is also survived by an uncle and aunt John and Patricia Mignone of FL.

John was a loving and protective son, brother, uncle and friend and will be remembered for his big heart. The family will always think of you, and we know that you’ll be looking down on us keeping us safe. John will be most remembered and missed for his sense of humor, generous spirit, perseverance, fun-loving outlook, and loyalty to his family and friends.

It was John’s wishes that there be no calling hours.  A memorial service and burial will be at the convenience of his family.

Memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to St. Ann’s Catholic Church, 31 Erie Ave. Hornell, N.Y. 14843.
