Richard R. Crane Jr. “Rick” 64 of Savona, New York surrounded by his family, arrived home with the Lord on November 2, 2023. Rick was the son of Richard Crane and Patricia Covell, born September 30, 1959. Rick was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved being in the woods with his son or in a creek with his brothers or nephews fishing for Salmon or trout. Rick and his family spent many weekends camping, enjoying a bon fire and telling stories. If he was not camping with his wife, children and grandchildren they were having a family meal together. Rick was a strong man; he taught his family when trials arise you stick together and give it to God. “That it ain’t nothing but a thing.” He fought hard everyday for his wife, children and grandchildren. Family was everything. His strength and stubborn will, will be passed onto his grandchildren. Rick coached his daughters in Savona Cinderella Softball for years and later became the president of the league. If his son had a basketball game, he was there front and center. Rick was blessed with a daughter in-law his “Miss Colie” he adored and loved her like his own and he had a son in-law, Keith that he was proud to call his son. He had a passion for his grandchildren, and he cherished every moment he had with them. He loved to spoil them with goodies and sing to them. He was the best poppy. Rick took everyone in and loved to feed people whether they were hungry or not. Rick had a lot of “adopted kids” and they will always have a special place in his heart. There was no one that he would not try to help. Rick married the love his life in 1983, they were married for forty years and to think it all started with a dare. Through the years Rick and his wife taught all three children what unconditional love was and how to support each other through the good times and the bad. Rick was predeceased by his parents Richard Crane, Patricia Covell, sister Ella Goodrich, brother Timothy Crane, brother in-law Carl D.
