William D. Allington, 77, of Horseheads NY, passed away on December 20th, 2023 at Guthrie Corning Hospital, Corning NY. Bill was born August 7, 1946 in Hornell NY to Lorey and Gladys (Potter) Allington. Bill was employed in the area for several years, including LRC Electronics, Harding Brothers and retired from Chemung County Transit in 2011. He enjoyed hunting, casinos (Tioga Downs), and he had a love for animals, especially his fur baby Brock. Bill was also a member of The American Legion in Big Flats NY. Bill is survived by his son Gary (Jeanna) Allington, of Troupsburg; Daughter Jackie Byrski (Earl Horton) of Horseheads; Son Daniel (Heather Moore) of Horseheads; Son-in-law Gregg Terpolilli of Elmira and Grand Children Jimmy, Jessica, Julia, Candice, Jenna, Britt Allen, Jordan, Izabella, and Danielle; several Great Grand Children; Brother Wally Allington of Florida; Sister, Marguerite Allington (Patricia Washington) of San Diego California; Sisters-in-law, Joyce, Dee Dee, and Emoline Allington, along with several nieces and nephews. Bill is predeceased by his Father Lorey Allington; his Mother Gladys Sherwood, Daughter Michelle Allington, who he missed dearly; and Brothers Ernie, Joel and Lorey Allington. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at the Big Flats American Legion, 45 Olcott Road, Big Flats NY, 14814 at 1:00PM. Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith and Son Funeral Home, Inc. in Woodhull NY
