Bernice V. Plank of Painted Post, NY, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017 at Corning Hospital following a short illness. Bernice was born in West Almond, NY to the late Clifford and Myrtle Rossman Hadsell. She was raised in the Almond area and graduated in one of the first graduating classes of the newly formed Alfred-Almond Central School. She married Paul W. Plank who preceded her in death in 1977. Bernice was a homemaker but also worked at the former Westinghouse Electric in Bath and retiring there after it became Phillips Lighting. As a younger woman, she enjoyed baking cookies and candy making and giving her treats away to others. She enjoyed flower gardening and found it relaxing working in her flowers. Bernice was an avid reader, but her greatest pleasure came in spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides her husband Paul, Bernice was predeceased by her daughter, Paula Jean Jenkins, her brothers, Milton Hadsell and Leon Hadsell, her sisters, Dorothy Fairchild and Ella Hadsell and her step mother, Lois Hadsell. Surviving are her son, Louis (Cheryl) Plank of St. Augustine, FL, her daughters, Carol Collins of Columbia, SC and Connie (Richard) LaPierre of Wilmington, NC, her son in law, Arthur Jenkins of Beaver Dams, NY, her grandchildren, Kimberly (Brian) Hanna of South Carolina, Eric (Heather) Plank of Painted Post, Dr. Benjamin (Amanda) Plank of Montana, Rebecca (Robert) Scott of New Mexico, Emily (Jeremie) Vigneault of Vermont and Christina Jenkins of Corning, 12 great grandchildren, her sister, Deloris Dunham of Andover, NY and several nieces and nephews.
