Howard W. Wilson, 77, of Maple St. Addison, NY, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Corning Hospital. Howard was born in North Hornell, NY on May 11, 1939, the son of the late Elwyn W. and Maxine E. (Thompson) Wilson. He was a 1957 graduate of Addison Central School. Howard was a very talented builder and contractor and worked locally in the contracting business for several years with his brother in law, Ed Pearsall as his business partner. He was called by the Lord to share his skills in other ways so he attended the Thomas Road Bible Institute in Lynchburg, VA from 1977 to 1979. He worked as a home builder around Lynchburg after finishing bible school. Howard was involved in various missionary and disaster relief projects in the Caribbean including two and half years in Haiti building schools and following a hurricane, he gave a year of his life without compensation in St. Thomas where he worked to rebuild school dormitories at Blue Water Bible College. On May 20, 1983, Howard married Yong “Suki” Choe in Albany, NY. Suki survives. He was a cabinet installer for Starmark Co. in Virginia in the time between his trips to Haiti and St. Thomas. He and Suki returned to Addison when his parents were in need of care in their end days. They were active members of the Quackenbush Hill Baptist Church in Corning. Surviving is Howard’s wife Suki of Addison, his son, David Wilson of Addison, his daughters, Karen (Anthony) DeSantis of Goode, VA and Vicki Napier of Fort Mill, SC, his step daughter, May-Lin (Adam) McLaughlin of Corning, his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Matthew, Katie, Jennifer, Max, Landon and Taylor, his sister, Donna (Edward) Pearsall of Addison and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 7 at 5 PM at the Quackenbush Hill Baptist Church, 4371 College Ave. in Corning with Pastor Dan Barner officiating. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Corning Cancer Center, 2 Guthrie Drive, Corning, NY 14830.
