Edward W. Wind, 80, of 18 Grove St. Addison, NY, entered into rest on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 at home after a long and courageous battle with MS. Born on December 11th 1931 in Utica, NY, the son of Edward W. Wind and Charlotte Godfrey Wind, he grew up in Rome, NY. He graduated from Albany College of Pharmacy in 1954. After college he joined the Marine Corp, serving as a med tech. In 1959 he married Lois Jeanneret and in 1960 they purchased the Addison Pharmacy. They operated the pharmacy until retiring in 1997. Ed was an avid golfer and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time at Goodhue Lake. After getting his pilot's license, he joined the Flying Club of Addison. He was instrumental in establishing the Pinnacle Golf & Ski Resort where he served as Treasurer for several years. He was a Kiwanis member for many years and just recently was recognized for his fifty years of dedication to the Masonic Brotherhood. Ed truly enjoyed living in Addison and getting to know so many wonderful people. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Addison. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lois and his daughter Carolyn of Marshfield, Massachusetts. Also his sister, Marilyn Walker and her husband Bradford of Kalamazoo, Michigan, two nieces, Alison Pruitt of West Palm Beach, FL and Lauren Keller and her husband Brad of Kalamazoo, Michigan as well as four grand nieces and nephews, Sarah and Conner Pruitt and Erin and Ben Keller. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, Sept. 26 at the First Presbyterian Church of Addison from 6-7 PM where Ed's funeral service will follow at 7 PM with Rev. Peter Marr officiating. Burial will be in Woodhull Cemetery Memorials in Ed's name may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Addison or to Care First Hospice, Corning, NY.
