CANISTEO: Glenn F. Sharp, 91, of Cty. Rte. 31 Milwaukee Rd. (Town of Jasper) passed away Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Strong memorial Hospital in Rochester following an extended illness. Glenn was born July 22, 1929 in North Hornell to the late Floyd and Bernuth (Drake) Sharp. On March 21, 1953 in Canisteo, he married the former Patricia Parks who survives and resides in the town of Jasper. He was predeceased by two brothers Robert and James Sharp and a half-sister Joyce Plank. Glenn left school at an early age to help with the family finances and eventually enlisted in the U.S. Army serving our country proudly from 1951-53. He was a truck driver for the town of Jasper for several years working on road maintenance. Glenn enjoyed the outdoors very much. Hunting was a favorite past-time (fishing was too boring!) He had a lot of fun playing cards, square dancing years ago and playing softball in his younger years. In addition to his wife Pat, Glenn is survived by two sons: Floyd (Diane) Sharp and Thomas (Pamela) Sharp all of the Milwaukee Rd in the town of Jasper. Glenn has 7 wonderful grandchildren; Pamela (Eric) Mansfield, Casey Sharp, Jennifer James, Lacy Taft, Thomas (Corrisa) Sharp, Jr., McKayla and Stephanie Sharp, 11 great grandchildren: Allison and Abbey Mansfield, Kolby, Connor and Kaiden Sharp, Kailynn James, Elijah Meise, Meghanna Parrish, Ella and Axel Sharp and Oliver Anderson-Sharp. Glenn is also survived by a half brother Jack (Sandra) Burchard of South Gate, MI. and sisters-in-law Joyce Sharp of Canisteo and Dolores Sharp of Hartsville, several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-3 pm Saturday, October 24th at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo, where a private memorial service will take place at the convenience of the family.
