Harriet E. Passaretti, 68, of Back Street, Troupsburg, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Absolut Care @ Three Rivers in Painted Post. Born in Mineola, NY on October 28, 1943, Harriet was the daughter of Harold F. and Virginia Hall Schroeder. She was a graduate of W.C. Mepham High School in Bellmore, NY. On March 7, 1971, she and Jenaro Passaretti were married in Bellmore, Long Island. They resided in Brooklyn for several years. Following the death of her husband on June 25, 1984, she and her son Kevin moved to Troupsburg, a place that Kevin had learned to love as a fresh air child while growing up. She was a homemaker and also worked in home health care in the area. She loved having flowers and house plants around her and became certified in floral arranging. While in Brooklyn, Harriet and Jenaro were very involved in the youth program the American Cadet Alliance. She was a member of the Austinburg Baptist Church. Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Kevin and Sharon Passaretti of Troupsburg, her grandchildren, Rachel and Bruce Passaretti, her sisters, Lorraine Howell of Port Jervis, NY and Claudia Schroeder (Frank) of Sparrowbush, NY as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Thursday, September 27 from 7-9 PM at the H. P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 28 at 11:00 AM at the Austinburg Baptist Church with Pastor Adrian Essigmann officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Troupsburg.
