Ronald G. Brown, 77, of County Route 21, Addison, NY, passed away at home on Monday, November 9, 2020. Ron was born in Knoxville, Tennessee on March 29, 1943, a son of the late Walter G. and Juanita Grace (Nelson) Brown. Ron left home at the age of 13 and fended for himself ever since. He, by chance, met his future wife who happened to be babysitting for a family member. On June 8, 1964, he and Mary L. Quick were married at the Greece Baptist Church near Rochester. Ron had a long career with Corning Inc in Corning. He started at the Corning Pressware Plant and later moved to the Erwin Plant where he worked for over 30 years. In his retirement, he and Mary enjoyed round and square dancing and were loyal followers of Harold Benjamin and the Country Boys. Ron thoroughly enjoyed his annual trips back home to Tennessee to visit his family. Surviving Ron is his wife of 56 years, Mary Brown of Addison, his children, Billie Jo VanZile of Westfield, PA, Ronald G. Brown Jr. of Coopers Plains, Jeffrey Brown (Tonya) of Maynardville, TN, Mary (Cecil) LaBarron of Carlisle, PA and Roxanne Brown of Addison, his daughter in law, Deb Bump of Addison, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, his twin brother, Donald (Patsy) Brown of Heiskell, TN, his sisters, Jackie (Ronald) Sellers of Heiskell, TN, Kay Ross of Seymour, TN and Barbara Ann, along with many nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Kenneth, Jerry, Billy, Walter, Ralph and David and by his sisters, Betty Jean, Geraldine and Wilma Mae. Friends may call on Thursday, November 12 from 6-8 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Memorial donations are suggested for the American Cancer Society or Care First Hospice.
