Dear Joyce, David and Paula, Judy and Ronnie, Carol and Tony, and Bruce and Linda, and all of your children and grandchildren, I am so sorry to hear that your patriarch has departed this life, but am happy for him to have earned his eternal rest and reward. I knew that it would happen sometime. Just a day or two before I read this I was thinking about them and I thought, "One of these days I am going to hear that either Jerry or Joyce has passed on to glory." I have very fond memories, both of singing together, and of working at the store, scraping and wrapping meat that he was cutting, all the while him talking and "preaching" to me, sometimes gesturing in the air with his huge knife, for emphasis. I remember Judy coming round the corner, gasping, "My goodness!" because it looked like he was about to murder me with that knife swinging in the air. Thank you for that little two-year window into your lives, during which you took me in as part of the family. I will love all of you forever! May God comfort you as you grieve. I send my deepest sympathies and condolences.
