Obituary of Edwin D. Curry

Edwin D Curry, 76, of Cameron, passed away Friday, January 1, 2021, at Strong Memorial Hospital after an extended illness, due to COVID-19 complications. Ed was born in Bath, NY on July 28, 1944, the oldest son of the late Charles and Helena (Rawleigh) Curry. On July 17, 1965 Ed married Lorraine G. Williams at the Bucksettlement Church in Bath, Lorraine survives and resides in Cameron. Ed started out working with his hands as a carpenter and then worked 38 years at Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport retiring in 2012. Although leaving school early on he achieved his GED in 2001 at the age of 55. Ed and Lorraine celebrated their 55th Anniversary in July 2020. He was an amazing "Poppy" to all his grandchildren - his family he held in high regard above everything else. He enjoyed hunting, puttering around on the "hill" and in his workshop. Surviving are Ed's wife of 55 years, Lorraine Curry, his son Joseph (Lisa E.) Curry, his daughter Julie (Bill Perry) Shaut all of Cameron. His grandchildren, Arthur (Haiden) Perry, Krystal (Anthony) Guiles, Shane (Hanna) Curry, Shawn Guiles, Amanda (Brandon) Reeve, Amanda (Ben) Towner, Kyle (Evelyn) Curry, & Rachel (Dawson) Rivas and several great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Jean Panzick and Linda (Chester) Miller, his brother Richard (Lisa A) Curry, sisters-in-law, Deb Storm and Sheila Curry. Ed was preceded in death by his siblings Judy Walls, Charles Curry, Robert Curry, Ronald Curry and Beverly Cabins. There will be no calling hours per Ed's request. A celebration of life will be held on June 19, 2021 at the Curry Camp in Cameron, NY. Memorial Contributions in Ed's name may be made to the American Cancer Society.
