Joey`s life was too short, but all of us that knew him, loved him. He was warm, caring and funny. As many have said, he just had a really good soul.
Everyone has challenges in life and some can be more difficult than many can appreciate. He was supported and loved immensely by his family regardless of the ups & downs of the battle.
While Sue and I are heartbroken, Joe will live on in our memories as the toddler, teenager and young man that made us smile.
Rest in peace Joey
Love Aunt Sue and Uncle Mike

Joe my buddy I’ll forever miss you pal.
You were such an important element to my childhood into high school, college, and beyond.
To driving in classy style in the Pontiac 39’ to our Prom with our hot dates, sitting on your porch steps at night talking about our dreams, to our walks home for our senior yr lunch breaks.
You always were such a light, and I know you radiated that light with everyone you were around.
I love you dude and keep shining that light of yours up in heaven, and keep all those angels laughing.
To those that didn’t know Joe, let me sum it up like this. If you met Joe I can guarantee you were smiling. He just had this way about him to make anyone laugh.
Gone too soon my friend however Heaven gained a new Angel and a new beam of illuminating light.
It’s not goodbye, it’s I’ll see again.
My heart aches and I wish I could see you one more time.
I know you’re flying high and forever resting in peace.
Love ya bro

In memory of our son Joel
We fought the battle of addition with you for over 20 years. There has never been any shame or embarrassment; just heartache!
You had so many positive qualities - humor, loyalty, kindness and a strong work ethic. You had a sweet soul and a loving heart; a fabulous smile, dimples and eye lashes all the girls envied.
You were LOVED by ALL especially us - Dad and Mom and Michelle who are heartbroken.

Life and work will never be the same without you bro! Our friendship will never be forgotten and I thank you for everything! I was lucky to have you in my life. I will miss you being my go to person and our talks on break. The jokes we each played on each other where legendary. Words will never express how much you meant to me and I am glad I got to tell you that before it was too late. You will always be in my heart. Rest easy my friend! P.s buddy.. since I mentioned the jokes... you get a pink candle.. love you bro.

I knew Joe from my early years in Canisteo. We were in cub scouts together and I remember a few intense sessions of some nerf Basketball in his bedroom. Although I lost touch when I moved at 13, I still vividly remember his humor, that smile and the fun that always seemed to be around him. Rest in Peace Joe.

Joe was truly a special guy. After leaving Canisteo school in 9th grade I lost touch with Joe and most every person I went to school with, and one day it was my pleasant surprise to see Joe Buckpitt, a high school friend come in to the shop for an interview. That was MY lucky day and hired him on the spot. It was a pleasure to work with him and really get to know him as a friend for the last couple years. He fit in at work just like he was one of the family and was liked by everyone that he interacted with. Many trips are made to the Dunkin Donuts at the shop and Joe was always up for a XXX coffee(Extra large, Extra cream, Extra sugar). I will really miss the "Not it" when "That guy" shows up at the store and the, "I deserve some nicotine after that". His sense of humor and love of music was something special altogether in itself. He introduced me to Richard Cheese which if you've never listened give it a try he would like you to. He was reliable as a person as you could ever ask for so we never had to worry about the store getting opened on time. As I write this I think "my" only regret is that I didn't get to hang out with Joe sooner in life, he will be missed deeply.
