Obituary of Allen L. McChesney

SCOTTSBURG: Allen L. McChesney, 74, of Scottsburg Rd. passed away Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Noyes Hospital following a brief illness.
Allen grew up in Canisteo and was a private contractor and mechanic working on building/remodeling construction and auto repair in the Canisteo Valley and Dansville areas.
Allen was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He will be sorely missed by all.
Allen was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth R. “Betty” and Raymond L. McChesney, his brothers Carl J. and Terry McChesney, his son Scott (Ashley) McChesney, and daughter Carla McChesney.
He is survived by his wife, Irene (Halbert) McChesney of Scottsburg, one son Robert (Tina) McChesney of Dansville, his brother David McChesney of Prattsburg, seven sisters, Shirley Sistarelli of Canisteo, Marla (Edsel) Drake of Salamanca, Lori (Robert) Cragg of Bath, Brenda Shipley of Canisteo, Jane (Larry) Morseman of Avoca, Lisa (Chuck) Cordes of Savona and JoEllen McChesney of Corona, Calif.
12 grandchildren, Mellissa McChesney of Scottsburg, Meaghan McChesney of Dansville, Brittany (Alex) Irwin of Wayland, Shina McChesney of West Sparta, Desiree McChesney of Dansville, Kayla (Kaleb) McChesney, Sierra McChesney, Devin McChesney, Casey, Tyler, Merissa Slayton and Hannah Button.
9 great-grandchildren, Owwen McChesney, Layla Neu, Layne Irwin, Payton Harrigan, Kyleigh Beaver, Vincent Perera, Kayne McChesney, Lynn Irwin, Elizabeth Beaver, as well as several nieces and nephews.
There will be no public calling hours or service. A celebration of life and memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
