DENTON, NC: Mrs. Jessie Irene (Marvin) Freeland, 83, of Denton, NC passed away February 7, 2021 at the home of her son in Denton, NC. The daughter of the late Floyd Lewis and Eugenia (Miles) Marvin.
Mrs. Freeland was born September 6, 1937 in Hornell, NY. She married Russell Alton Freeland July 1960, who predeceased her 1990 to be joined once again in heaven.
Jessie liked to play cards, loved taking vacations with her family, and loved watching her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent many hours sewing, scrapbooking, making crafts, and reading (especially Danielle Steele books). Jessie was one of Elvis’ greatest fane.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Freeland is also preceded in death by her son Timothy Freeland, grandson Russell Freeland (Rusty) and Daughter in law Kerry Freeland, her brother Eugene Marvin, her sister Rosemary Marvin, and in- laws Alton, Elizabeth, Joseph and Audrey Freeland.
Left to cherish her memories are three children Gregory Freeland (Rose) of Denton, NC, Pamela Spiggle (Glen) of Florida, and Cinthia Woodworth (Leon) of NY, two brothers Clark Marvin of NY and William Marvin of NY, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and very best friend Margaret Smith (Gerard) of NY.
There will be no public calling or services. A private graveside service will be at the convenience of the family in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo.
