Frances E. Saxton, 78, of Cameron Mills, NY, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at Ira Davenport Memorial Hospital in Bath.
Born in Corning, NY on January 8, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Ruth (Cornell) Koon. She was a graduate of Addison Central School.
Frances married Donald E. Saxton on July 5, 1964 at the Cameron Mills Methodist Church. He survives.
As a young woman, Frances had worked at Westinghouse Electric in Bath. Upon the birth of their daughter, she became a stay at home mother and wife. She had attended the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Addison.
Frances is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Donald Saxton of Cameron Mills, daughter and son in law, Donna and Dan Ferguson of Avoca, granddaughter, Kirsten Ferguson, brother, Gary (Joanne) Koon of Lititz, Pa, nieces and nephews, Vonda Koon, Jolene Piefer, Lee Koon, Jeff Koon, Brian Creeden, John Creeden and Kyle Creeden along with several great nieces and nephews.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Ruth Koon, her sister, Virginia Zawrotny and her brother, Rodney Koon.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 2 from 11 am to 1 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 1 pm with Rev. Greg Ferguson officiating.
Burial will be in Townline Cemetery, Cameron Mills.
