Obituary of Mark G. McMindes

CANISTEO: Mark G. McMindes, 63, of Russell St. passed away peacefully at his home Wednesday February 24, 2021 following a brief illness. Mark was born May 29, 2957 in Hornell to the late Paul L. and Nancy E. (Stocum) McMindes. Mark was a lifelong resident of the Canisteo Valley where he graduated from Canisteo Central School class of 1975. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1983 and was honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1993. Mark had worked at Dyco for about 5 years. and had recently worked as treasurer for the Canisteo American legion. Mark is survived by a daughter: Michele (Christopher) Worth of Almond, a grandson Wyatt Worth, two brothers John (Sandra) McMindes of Canisteo and Jeff (Janis) McMindes of Avon. In addition to his parents Mark was predeceased by a sister Wanda McMindes, a brother Michael McMindes and a sister-in-law Suzanne McMindes. There will be no public calling or services at this time. A private family memorial service with military honors will be at the convenience of the family.
