Carol A. Naar, 75, of Cameron, NY, passed away at Corning Hospital on Monday, April 12, 2021. Born January 24, 1946, in Wellsboro, PA, she was the daughter of Warren and Eleanor Bryant Cummings. The family lived in Elmira, NY during Carol’s early years before moving to Cameron, NY. Her father Warren was a lumberman, owning a local sawmill. Manfred Naar was also a young lumberman and became acquainted with Carol during his visits to Warren’s sawmill. Carol was a 1964 graduate of Addison Central High School. She began her work life at Lilliquest Studios in Bath, but always wanted to be self-employed. Carol and Manfred were married November 20, 1965 in Bath, NY. Soon after, Carol began working on plans for what would become Carol’s Country Court trailer park. On December 31, 1971, Carol gave birth to her son, Corey Michael Naar and on July 5, 1975, she gave birth to her daughter, Kim Leah Naar. In the 1980’s she made plans for her next big feat, Naar’s Store/Restaurant. She was always about providing for the local people. She touched many lives through her businesses and her generosity. She took in many people through the years, giving them a stable place to stay when they needed it. Carol is survived by her husband, Manfred “Mike” Naar, her son, Corey Naar, her daughter and son in law, Kim and Stephen Thompson, her grandchildren, Haley Naar, Michael Naar, Christopher Sparks, Braden Thompson and Ryan Thompson, her siblings, Darold Cummings, Galva Pierson, Lynn Cummings and Roger Cummings along with nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Eleanor Cummings. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, April 15 at 11 am at the Townline Cemetery in Cameron Mills, NY. Arrangements are with the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY.
