Ronald E. House, 85, of Avon, NY, passed away at home on Thursday, June 10, 2021. Born in Hornell, NY on September 5, 1935, he was the son of the late Edgar E. and Mildred Davis House. Raised in Jasper, Ron attended Jasper Central School. After leaving school, Ron enlisted in the US Army, serving from 1954 to 1957. During his enlistment, he spent a tour in Korea during the Korean Conflict. Ron began a long career working in the food processing industry in the Avon area. His first job was with Birdseye Foods. He later worked for many years for Philip Morris Corp. where he retired as a supervisor. In 1988 he married Anne Christine “Chris” Falzarano. She survives. Besides his wife Chris of Avon, he is survived by his son, Jerold House of Brighton, NY, his step children, Kimberly Feenaughty of Geneseo, Juan (Melanie) Martes of New York City and Jose (Jody) Martes of Mt. Morris, 9 grandchildren, his brothers, Glenn House of Elmira and Jay (Wendi) House of Jasper, his sisters, Bonnie Matacle of Hornell, Ann Banfield of Corning and Lisa (Tom) Davis of Corning, his sister in law, Paula (Larry) Keeney and several nieces and nephews. Ron was preceded in death by his son, Zachery House in 2012, his brothers, Zane House and Robert House, his sister, Barbara Northrup and his sister in law, Janet House. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 16 from 1 to 3 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St., Woodhull, NY. Funeral services will follow there at 3 pm with Rev. Brian Diffenbacher officiating. Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery.
