Obituary of Perry C. Stock

HORNELL: Perry C. Stock, 70, formerly of Honey Run Rd. passed away Friday (Oct. 26, 2012) at the Highlands Care Center in LaPorte, Pa. after a lengthy illness with Parkinsons Disease Perry was born October 29, 1941 in Troupsburg, to Perry and Golda (Travis) Stock. He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, Freddy, Harry and Lester Stock. Perry was a lifelong resident of the Canisteo Valley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1964-66. He was a janitor for the Hornell Middle School for many years and had attended the Canisteo Valley Assembly of God Church. Perry was an avid sports fan who enjoyed all local high school sporting events. He also enjoyed professional sports, particularly baseball and being a big fan of the N.Y. Yankees. He also loved animals and especially his pets, his cat "Shambach" and dog "Stormy". Survivors include two brothers, Earl (Mildred) Stock of Campbell and Clayton (Jeanette) Stock of Hartsville, 6 Step-children: Sheri Nisbet of Greensboro, N.C., Kim (Jeff) Woodworth of Bath, David (Traci) Welch of Bradford, Laura Welch of Big Flats, Destry Welch of Greece Chili and Shannon (Larry) Murray of Hornell. He is also survived by several grand children, great grand children, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM Tuesday at the H.P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, 29 East Main St. in Canisteo where funeral and committal services will take place immediately following calling hrs. at 9 PM. Burial will be in the Woodhull Cemetery, Woodhull, N.Y. Memorial contributions may be made to the Donor's choice or to the Parkinsons Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, N.Y. 10018. Service: Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012 9:00 PM H.P.
