CANISTEO: Emily R. Thompson, 29, passed away early Friday morning, June 25, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester after a hard-fought battle with interstitial lung disease.
Emily was born to Barry and Mary (Cole) Thompson on December 12,1991 at St. James Hospital in Hornell.
She received her GED from Canisteo-Greenwood High school in 2015. The Christian faith was an important part of Emily’s life. A life-long Christian, Emily attended church at New Hope Wesleyan Church in Hornell.
Emily is survived by her 2 children Aiden and Gavin of Canisteo, her fiance’ Jeffrey Boeck of Buffalo, her father Barry of Canisteo, three brothers, Luke and Susie of Odenton, MD., Peter and Heather of Dansville, and Joel and Nicole of Rochester. She was predeceased by her mother Mary F. Thompson.
Following her death, Emily graciously donated her kidneys to 2 individuals through the Finger Lakes Donor Recovery Network.
There will be a public service at New Hope Wesleyan Church, 280 Grand St. in Hornell at 10:00 am on Saturday, July 10, 2021.
