Janet R. Sawyer, 55, of 199 East Ave., Hornell, formerly of Troupsburg, passed away on Sunday, October 28, 2012 at home quite suddenly. Born in Jasper, NY on February 16, 1957, Janet was the daughter of Jennings D. and Ruth Johnson Sawyer. She attended school at Troupsburg and Jasper Schools. Janet enjoyed craft projects and was employed by Steuben ARC for several years. She is survived by her long time companion, Willard Hall of Hornell, her sisters, Ann Hulbert of Troupsburg, Mary (Keith) Auton of Hendersonville, NC and Jane Kawecki of Northwest Warren, Ohio, her brothers, David (Liz) Sawyer of Woodhull, Dale (Grace) Sawyer of Friendsville, TN, Dean (Cheryl) Sawyer of Troy, Pa and George (Helen) Sawyer of Canisteo, her uncle, Clifford Sawyer of Lindley along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Ronald and Robert Sawyer. Friends may call on Wednesday, Oct. 31 from 6-8 PM at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY and again there on Thursday from noon to 2 PM with funeral and committal services following at 2 PM. Rev. Brian Diffenbacher will officiate. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Austinburg, Pa. Service: Thursday, November 1, 2012 2:00 PM H.P. Smith & Son Inc.
