Obituary of Tom Windnagle

Thomas E. Windnagle, 51, of Cameron Mills, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester following a brief illness. Tom was born in the Town of Urbana, NY on September 5, 1969, a twin son of the late George E. and Genevieve G. (Robinson) Windnagle. He attended Jasper Central School from where he graduated in 1987. Shortly after graduation in 1987, Tom enlisted in the US Marines Corps where he served until 1991 and attained the rank of Lance Corporal. Tom was employed by the Steuben County Department of Public Works since 1999. He was an MEO and had advanced to the position of Supervisor of the County DPW Shop at Greenwood. A very talented handyman, Tom took on many sideline jobs for friends and neighbors. He was a skilled electrician and roofer, among other various skills. He would help others with their projects without reservation. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. Tom is survived by his children, Kayla (Ashley) Windnagle of Cordova, SC, Alyson (Peter) Tuscany of Rochester, NY and Logan Windnagle of Cameron Mills, his grandchildren, James Wareham and Lincoln Tuscany, his twin brother, Edwin Windnagle of Cameron Mills, his brother, John Robinson, his sister, Anna Ross and nieces and nephews including Ed’s children, Krysta Windnagle and Daniel Windnagle. Tom’s family will be holding a private celebration and remembrance of life. The family is being assisted by the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home in Woodhull, NY.
