Ann E. Bouton, 78, of Addison, NY, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at Guthrie Corning Hospital. Ann was born in Rochester, NY on May 12, 1943, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Brady) Nelson. She attended high school at Nazareth Academy in Rochester, NY. Following high school, Ann attended the St. James School of Nursing in Hornell, earning certification as a Registered Nurse. After raising her three children, she returned to college and earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from Marywood College. Ann was employed at the Steuben County Department of Mental Health, as a social worker for 20 years. Ann was an avid reader and loved to swim and took great pride in her beautiful flower gardens. She belonged to the TOPS group in Woodhull and cherished the friendships she made. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoyed hosting and planning family holidays and memorable vacations. She especially treasured time spent with family and close friends. Surviving is her husband of 57 years, Joseph D. Bouton, her daughter, Marie (Patrick) Geraghty, her sons, William (Lora) Bouton and James (Josephine) Bouton, her grandchildren, Joseph Geraghty, Nicholas Geraghty, Benjamin Bouton, Madalyn Bouton, Jessie Bouton and Cash Bouton, her loving sister, Mary Ellen (Gary) Yantz and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 15 from 2 to 3 pm at the H.P. Smith & Son Funeral Home, 1607 Main St. Woodhull, NY. A memorial service will follow there at 3 pm with Rev. Peggy Knopf officiating.
